I love Karl's Studio!!
He shoots while wearing leather studed gloves and never takes his shades off. He's a nutter but has great vision.
A great example of keeping it simple. One light. The strip lights we see in the video don't appear to be used for the image itself.. maybe to help him see better while wearing sunglasses?
